I avoid them like the plaque and I'm sure alot of people would agree with me. Yet there are so many in the world, oxymoron huh.

I guess people who are constantly negative are a turn off. but then again, i can't help but think people sometimes cannot help be negative.

yes, life is difficult, but i think it often depends on a person's coping skill level and their own personality/mode of thinking. People say you should be happy at small mercies, but not everybody is of that kind of personality, or values spiritual peace.

I would personally treat a negative person with empathy at first, and after a while tire of them. life is too short to waste on negative thinking/feeling.

I'm "negative/positive", or what I call "reality" that some folks just don't want to hear either! Some people just talk too negative, while others just talk too positive! Depending on the person/persons, I can be fairly good at confronting either type of people with my own opinions!

I avoid delusional people, whether their delusions are negative or positive.

I'm also not a fan of constantly negative people, I work with one and it's a rare day she's not being negative about something so, how do I cope? I mock her without her knowing LOL
I think you have to make the best out of situation and people like that... LOL I'm consistently in a good mood, it's hard to bring me down and when someone starts with their negative attitude, I just make fun of them and make light of it. I guess it helps I'm a complete smarta$$.
On the rare occasion I'm not in a good mood, I just make fun of myself LOL - hey, you've got to be able to laugh at yourself, right?

The thing about negative people is that they're never surprised or "wrecked" when something bad happens. They...expect...the bad.

Now, Little Miss Pollyanna Sunshine has something bad happen to her, and she doesn't know how to deal with it at all. And it catches her totally by surprise.

The negative person is better prepared for reality.

I don't completely agree, I think you can have that Little Miss Pollyanna Sunshine attitude and still be in touch with reality. I think naive people are more prone to freak out when something bad happens because they can't believe it's happening.
I'm not quite the little miss pollyanna - definitely not that person, but I'm well adjusted, content and happy most of the time, I'm the first responder though when something bad is going down - I'm also not naive about life.
I'm just not negative all the time.

I would think being positive is about generally having a contented mental/emotional state, more so than delusions that everything in life is sweet.

I think every moment lost to unhappiness is one less moment being happy, so one should try and be happy in every moment.
