I get along really well with one of my co-workers and today she received some bad news from the doctor.
She didn't tell me what it was but she was crying when she called our workplace today.

What are some nice things I can do to show her I care and I'm there for her?

Tonight I'm getting drinks for our work potluck and I'm going to get her a card and mail it to her around the time of her surgery.

I want to do more than that. Any other ideas?

Maybe fix some frozen casseroles or something heat and eat so she doesn't have to worry about cooking or anythng like that.

If you all are close with her maybe you could visit her in the hostipal or take turns keeping her company when the surgery is over, and bring her meals like missymomof3 said.

The best thing you can do is to keep in touch with her from now until she's thru whatever crisis she is dealing with. Remembering to call or send cards very regularly will show her you care and mean a lot to her

I agree with the above posters. Cards, emails, phone calls, food, a magazine, gift cards, flowers, visits, etc. are all appreciated after a surgery.

Get her three months supply of post-it notes Just Kidding.

I'd visit the hospital with flowers, and buy her an expert made gourmet cake.
