Moving to Wilson few questions???
I just recieved an internship through ECU. I was placed in Rocky Mount. My Boyfriend and I were down there for a few days We had researched other areas and at the last minute I was placed in Rocky Mount. We looked in Rocky Mount for a whole day and were very discouraged. The next day we went to wilson for a couple of hours but we flew back that evening. We liked the feel of Wilson much better and from the posts we have read we were right. We were only able to view two places to rent in Wilson. Wilsons Woods apartments and Parkwood apartments. We were not able to actually look inside parkwoods apartments. Wilsons woods were quite nice. We recieved conflicting reports on the safety of the neighborhood for Wilsons woods so now we are unsure... On the rate my apartments web page they had good reviews after 2004 but previously it was apparently very rundown... We have no children or pets and want to spend 4 - 500 a month. This complex is right near Fike High School...Is it an ok area? It looked like working class people which is great but someone told us it was very "criminal". Help! Any input would be great!

Wow, I really don't know what to tell you here. I know Wilson woods very well. Heck, My cousin lived there once. I do know this, there is crime in Wilson woods, it is not the safest neighborhood. Brentwood, the neighborhood behind fike is really nice. But the housing projects which are also right beside Fike is not very nice....lol.
The best side of Wilson is the west side. That is where everyone is moving these days.
I have a question for you, would you be willing to live in the country with a great view??? 25-30 minutes from Rocky Mount?
If so private message me. I have a house for rent (500 a month)
Three bed room, two baths.....just outside Saratoga, NC (wilson address)

Rocky Mount Resdient Here
Hi, I live in Rocky Mount. I have visited Wilson several of times. However, I think Rocky Mount would be a better choice. There is some crime, but I don't believe it is a large number.
Thanks,
Michelle

We lived in Bailey; I worked in Nashville, my husband working in Wilson. Personally, I'd live in Nashville...CUTE!! But, you may not like the small town feel of Nashville. Rocky Mount has a MUCH better mall, but other than that, I'd take Wilson over Rocky Mount hands down. I know some people in Nashville that have rentals, if you want, PM me and I'll send names.
Good luck!

I am looking for a place in the country near Wilson. I am disabled and have two companion dogs medically documented- fully house-trained, people-trained, the best!! I also have parrots who live in large cages. I do not have them for breeding purposes. These guys are my family as I have none. I live in Emerald Isle but need more space for my guys to run. Would you consider renting to someone with pets? I own rental property in Emerald Isle and know what a headache animals can be. Mine aren't or I wouldn't ask. I look forward to hearing from you, MerkEI

I would try somewhere up along Airport Road--a lower crime area where there are a lot of new places, and they're doing a lot of new development. Wilson Woods is okay, but I'd look up along Airport Road--Starship, Daisy Lane, Jayne Lane, Stedman, Buckingham, etc. Down the Airport Road end of Nash is good too--Weatherly is good.
There's crime anywhere, wherever bad people are. You get what you pay for--if you live somewhere with cheap rent, chances are you'll be paying for somewhere with cheap accomodations. If you get a bad feeling about it, don't go. Make sure to drive by the apartment you're looking at at night too--that may give you a better feel for the place.
