Default Reciprocity at the NC DMV

Just got finished registering my car...

Now I have had handicapped tags on my car since I was in Missouri...moved to Michigan and all I did was give them my hang tag and they used that as proof to give me handicapped tags in Michigan...called RECIPROCITY.

Reciprocity does NOT seem to exist HERE. I have to get NORMAL tags and go to a doctor and get him to give me the handicapped tags I have had ALREADY. Just how stupid is that????? Okay, I've vented. Thankfully I do have a primary care as of this week and can get them. Liz

The healthcare provider doesn't give you the tags, he or she will complete the form for you in order that you may get them. You'll need to bring the form from the DMV with you.

I know the healthcare provider fills out the forms...

However when I moved from MO to MI, all I had to do was hand my MO hangtag to the MI DMV office and they handed me back a MI handicapped hangtag and mailed me a MI handicapped license tag. NO form from the doctor in MI required.

That's what I mean by Repciprocity. I got them right there and then and didn't waste time making extra trips or wasting extra tags. Liz
