If a client from out of state inquires on a house an agent has for sale in their state they are licensed in they are allowed to call back with information regarding the house. This would not be considered as the agent selling the house out of that state.

Just wondering if #1 is correct, thanks,

I'm not sure what the law is but I remember getting an auto response stating that they could not respond to residents of NY, and NJ. This was from a new home site that I requested info from on their web site. I'm not sure if this the same for a regular agent working resales. Maybe one of the agents on the board could clear up why there is a difference if there is.

ahh, a national builder? Because I myself have contacted many out of state Realtors on new construction to get info, and had no problem. Just has to be a licensed Realtor to give the info, hmmm. Yup, hopefully Mike or another licensed Realtor will jump in and save the day, Thanks for you feedback, appreciate that!

I know that there are some states to where new construction builders may not send information. Your realtor, however, should be able to get the information for you from these communities and then send it on to you.

Yup, that is right, we knew that.

Just wondering about the post from NYer. That is why I queried it. She specifically said her mom is a Realtor and it was law or she could lose her license........????????

I don't think so -- as long as you are licensed in the state you are selling I would think it would be fine...

Yes that is what I am getting at. I have posted that above. And explained more on it. And was wondering what I was missing as her post was a little misleading so wanted to help straighten it out so others could understand that wasn't quite accurate. And was hoping for more input from NYer. As I never heard they cannot call or write you outside the state they are licensed in. And I was a Realtor until recently so, thought how could that be possible?
And am quite aqware of a difference between a salesperson for a builder and a Realtor. 2 seperate things,
Thanks for your input also pal, appreciate it,
Oh well, at least we were able to clarify somewhat. And well that brings us back to " When at Realtors websites they should not require registering so much just to receive info to research the properties they have listed", or you cannot look at them.
And as far as a Realtor not phoning back, that is just pure laziness as they are able to also pass it on to another Realtor if they are to busy. And if I was a seller I would not be too amused by that.
Have a fun day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey now, Not all are stupid, just the ones that you deal with.. Father

Buckhead_Broker NICE POINT ON THE LAWSUIT ISSUE.
My wife is a broker...

As for the rest of you who are not Re Agents or Brokers, If you new what it takes to sell a property, go behind the scenes, you would not be siding with MUL K HEE HERE.

Buyers and sellers are a bunch of liars period...
Their the single worst cause of lawsuits in the industry, buyer and seller dummies who don't understand anything, but the final figure...
You were told and you just did not remember..

Forget About who your calling stupid, you think they are!!

Tell me, who is stupid? if you ever made a purchase on real estate, you agreed to sign that STUPID contract.
Agents are like shopping for property, you need to shop around and find one you feel comfortable with, once you do, if your not stupid, you won't find a stupid agent.

There not all stupid, the stupid ones are dropping like flys.. The smart ones are dealing with Stupid liers "as in" buyer & sellers like yourself..

Whoever said that real estate is "the biggest investment you'll ever make" speak for yourself ... It IS ONE OR PART OF, BUT in no way the biggest...

Selling real estate for others without a license is a STUPID third degree felony PLUS STUPID 10 year jail sentence...

gee STUPID, you think there still stupid..

Their not the ones attempting to sell their stupid NEIHBORS house, or taking their stupid friend from out of town and showing them property and CLAIMING to be a stupid expert on property..
fact is 87% of all stupid property owners do not know their legal rights when it comes to real esate.. I bet you fall into that STUPID percentile..

stupid as a FSBO trying to sell their own property.. asking the 125,000 over market cause, not even the stupid agent would touch it.. and ya think their GREEDY or is it stupid....
sounds STUPID? like your jelous?, agents actually work hard for their STUPID money & right to be STUPID, SO, you came on here to show us how STUPID you are, AND do something STUPID, bashing Them...

I bet you went to your STUPID closing, sat and looked STUPID, read your STUPID hud statement, seen the STUPID commission line and your STUPID heart started having papulations...

Your own stupid fault you did not negociate on that.. STUPID?

yes STUPID, in most STUPID cases it is negotiable.. STUPID can't get what HE/SHE don't ask for? STUPID IS, WHAT STUPID DOES,, MAN THATS STUPID

You think their still stupid?

all the STUPID foreclosures and market will not sustain for stupid Sellers to sell their STUPID property,
SO, now STUPID WIll be in short sale city......oops ,,Dose STUPID know what that is? or we're not stupid any more huh?!! YEAH, YEAH,,where's stupid now? which way did she go, which way did he go,, yeh yeh uh hu

yep,GET Your stupid real estate agent or an auctioneer will bail your ass out of that one..
You still need the ones you call stupid... even if you think their stupid.... Try to putting that shoe on the other foot...

I'll bet, you did not relise that the average stupid real estate agent who works hard to protect not only his/ hers private property rights but, for your stupid ass to enjoy the life and fredom or your STUPID property rights also, you live every stupid day..did ya.. ???? Fact is you should thank em for being STUPID.

Real estate agents do alot, Then there are the ones who are not worth a dam AS YOURSELF, like I said, dropping like, you know, them little black bugs on your stupid windsheild?

Let's see how STUPID they are when, STUPID sellers and STUPID Buyers drive the market into the ground by not buying & selling..
Most STUPID agents are buyers, but even they know a deal, cause Stupid real esate agents don't give a crap what size the rooms are, or what the STUPID surroundings look like,
They'll just buy it and let the Next STUPID buyer/seller wory about it...

I know of a person in real estate if you said that to them. they would make you sound STUPID-ER than I made this sound...
take it from me, They don't like stupid buyers and Stupid sellers any more than you dont like Stupid agents,, feeling mutual..

I have seen my wife show people the door many times..
you know what they say?
HAVE A NICE DAY >>gfys
My moma dint raise any STUPID foo, foo

Wait a minute folks-Maybe I have missed something here in the thread. But If someone calls me from "Anywhere USA" for info about a property-It is perfectly legal for me to return the call and to answer their questions to the best of my ability.

Wow..I thought we chose our own professions..and I thought when you have a home listed on a site, you are trying to SELL it so if you can't contact someone back who requests info then why would you have a site with any contact information. I am lost. In this day and age of technology you are attracting buyers from all over so the information has to be there in an easy to use format.
