Default Septic Problems

Hi. My husband and I are purchasing land in Northampton County and we are having septic issues. I don't think it really would be an issue if we can get the soil scientist out there in enough time to get things straight, but stressful, just the same. I was wondering is there anybody out there that has had similar problems and had to get an alternate or secondary septic system? The problem is we tried to buy land here in Va., before and had terrible problems, turned out the land would have never perked but the realtor was withholding that info from us. We have a great realtor now, but after the first experience we are really worn down and eager to get things on our house moving along in order to move, settle and batten down the hatches for the winter. Any advice???

I'm surprised the county would issue a building permit without documentation to support a septic system. They don't in my county. The test results are a factor as to how large of a home can be placed on the property too.
