I was thinking to move anywhere from California, some friend suggested North Carolina. Can any one tell me what is the advantage of moving to North Carolina? Also how is the weather there?:

Thanks to all
Why not ask your friend who suggested it?
The weather here is much worse than what you have there (generally). Today we seen 100 with humidity, like most of the Northeast.
Generally speaking, in the summer we are hotter with humidity and in the winter we are colder. Though I do remember a cold night in SFO in July.
I am a native Californian and have been here for 4 years now.
Why are you leaving California?
What are you looking for?
If you can give a little more information that can be benefical to help answer some of your questions.
For decades of my life, I tried to figure out how to move to California, as I have had nothing but good experiences there. I finally gave up in the early 90s, as it was just too damned expensive to buy a home there -- plus, as IAG mentioned, after the Northridge earthquake, I researched earthquake insurance and was shocked at the cost (and high deductible).
Now, California has its own set of budget problems, so I suspect even if real estate has come down in price, it is still expensive to live and do business there. Still, I think about Palm Springs, LaJolla, Malibu, Santa Barbara, Monterey . . . cities up and down the coast . . . and wonder if I could have made it there despite the negatives (as I find so much that's positive - love the light, love the ocean).
I would think hard before I left California, unless it had become financially impossible for me to live there.
I don't know of any clear advantages besides the lack of earthquakes. We have the same unemployment problems, our local leaders are getting tax happy, crime is probably similar, and the weather will certainly not be what you are accumstomed to in California (depending on what area of the state).
You lose earthquakes and pick up hurricanes. I suppose its a little better because you know they are coming.
As ani said, I'd think long and hard. Its a long trip back to Ca from NC.
Actually, the stats I see have indicated for quite a few years that Charlotte is ranked as having more violent crimes and property crimes (or about the same) per capita as Los Angeles. This is something folks used to scoff at when I first moved here, but I had researched the rates for years and LA is usually ranked as MORE SAFE than Charlotte (or at least - AS SAFE).
I get my stats from the FBI and Sperling, typically. (Sperling bases their rates on FBI stats)
Run a check here - Charlotte is rated 8 on scale of 1-10 for both violent crimes and property crimes - and LA is ranked lower on both. Pretty crazy stuff.
