This question may sound strange but is a rear defroster required in a car in North Carolina. We will be moving from Arizona where it is not required. Therefore, my 2002 Chrysler Voyager does not have one. Thanks for your assistance. This forum has been very useful as I investigate preparing for our move in June 2011.

I am not sure of what is common in Raleigh. When I was there a couple of years ago it was pretty cold and snowed. Not sure if that was common or not.

Required no.... Nice yes. Even out in Fayetteville and in Goldsboro when I lived there in the mornings your windows will be frosted. It does not snow much but we do get frost.

Thanks for all your responses. I do agree it is probably nice to have. I can clean the window in the mean time. Not sure what the cost would be to add a rear defroster and do I want to do it on a van with over 100K miles on it.
