Brunswick is a long east - west county. From Shallotte you can get to North Myrtle Beach in 20 minutes, Barefoot Landing in 1/2 hour, which also has the Alabama Theater, 17 & 501 in less than an hour, same to Broadway At The Beach.

Define what type of shopping you are looking for.

Shopping nearby wouldn't have to be anything more than a Target, Walmart, grocery store, or the like to make life a little easier. We do enjoy antique shopping but that doesn't have to be on a local level as we like to explore other areas too.

Every major brand of store is near. There are also many small shops. Some antique stores.
