Here is the situation:

You place 2 orders (to be able to use 2 different coupons, b/c each has a max of $2,000 it covers). You buy $2,000 of tile on the first order, and $400 on the second. You tell them you are picking up the 1st order later that day and will get the last $400 order the next day. You go pick up the first order take it home, go back for the 2nd order the next day. What you didn't realize was that whoever pulled your order included the $2000 order and the $400 order into the 1st pickup, but didn't note it on the order form (showing on the $2,000 worth).

My question is, you got $400 of extra tile free now. Do you:

1) Return it and let them know the error
2) Keep the tile for another project down the road since you don't want to have to haul it all back
3) Return the $400 worth of tile with your receipt, saying you never ended up needing it, and getting a $400 credit back. Sort of like a bank error in your favor.

Which would you do? I know what I am doing of the 3 options above, but just want to see what others would do.

#1. It's the honest thing to do--and your conscience will thank you.

Decide for yourself? What are you able to live with?

OR are you going to justify your choice based on what total and COMPLETE strangers tell you to do?

IF SO..I say keep the tiles and order MORE and see if you can get another $400 worth for free and sell em all on Craigslist!!

you call them and let them know of their error, They should pick it up.

thats a lot of tile, and keeping it is morally wrong

Are you honest or a crook?

It happened to me this year. I bought a patio table and 6 chairs at Big Lots. They only charged me for three chairs. I went back the next day and paid for the extra chairs. They were shocked.

It just goes back to a sense of personal honor. Do you have it? I hope so.

I wouldn't load tile in my vehicle without counting it first but that's just me.

Option #1 is the right thing to do. Option #2 is the "easy" way to convince yourself it's not that bad to steal. Option #3 is just... wow....
