Default State Sales Tax Reduction Delayed
State Senate Democrats have agreed to keep a "temporary" sales tax on the books for at least another month, removing the major obstacle for a stopgap spending bill to keep most of state government running past this weekend.

Without the taxes, Easley added, it would be "the first time I've seen in six years this very progressive Legislature could come up with a very unprogressive budget."

Perhaps progressive is too aggressive, Governor.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Thanks for the link.
