Default Black Bear population growing in NC....

Growing Black Bear Population a Factor in Recent Sightings :: WRAL.com

I've spent years exploring mostly piedmont and mountainous areas of NC and have only seen one black bear. About 10 years ago I was traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway with the 2 Siberian Huskies I had then and after walking a trail
off of one of the scenic view pullover areas we came across a black bear. He
walked up to the parking area near my Subaru, looked at us and turn around and ran.

Without question that is happening or will happen.

Here in Arizona, combining the housing boom with the drought, we are seeing coyotes coming into back yards and eating per dogs and cats. Hawks are even attacking small dogs and cats. A bobcat attacked two mid-sized dogs not far from Phoenix a couple days ago.

When animals get pushed into smaller habitats, bad things can happen. Out here, people are wondering when a child will get snatched or attacked.

That just happened about a week ago in Utah where an 11 year was attacked and mauled to death by a black bear as he slept in his family's tent! Yikes!!

Crazy_Daisy is on a distinguished road
It is called urban sprawl. Everyone keeps moving to North Carolina, and all the animals are being pushed from their habitats due to all of the new construction.

The Wildlife people have said that due to so many black bears out there on the coast they are needing to establish more territory to handle them all hence they are moving this way.

In the Franklin Times they reported a black bear in Louisburg. There was even 1 in Goldsboro not too long ago.
Even the bears want in on the real estate,

There are a lot of bears appearing on Wall Street lately, too. May push housing prices down.

There does need to be land put aside for at least some of these animals to survive. Even the critters like lightening bugs....grade up the land for new homes etc. and you're plowing up not only their homes but their future. The larger animals, bear, deer, etc.--what are they to do and where do "they" go?? I keep being told that there are to many of these animals and they need to be kept under control. Maybe our developement needs to be kept under control. The animals are only attempting to do what they know how to do....survive!!!
