Default What are good areas to live?

My husband and I might be relocating in Raleigh NC and we have been looking at apartments online. We were not sure what are the good areas of the city.
We are looking at a apartment on Six Forks Road (Riverwoods apartments) is that a good area to live?

You might want to post that on the Raliegh board. However, the Six Forks tend to be fine with quite a few very nice areas off of it.

I'm really not sure what rents run these day (haven't rented in 16 years). But generally speaking, the suburban areas around Charlotte and Raleigh will be more affordable than the cities themselves. The Greensboro/Winston Salem area and Hickory area is nice too. But the Charlotte and Raleigh job markets are a little stronger. In the Charlotte area, I'd look at Concord or Mt. Holly for affordable rentals in safe areas. There may be more areas to choose from, but these two come to mind. Good luck!!

Winston-Salem is a good place to find a job and living quarters. That is true.
