Are there any state employees who are CURRENTLY having problems with the Beacon payroll system? Have you been underpaid? Overpaid?

I want your story.

Thank you!

Is this for a newspaper? I'm guessing you won't get too many folks admitting to getting overpaid.

No, this is not for a newspaper. I am a state employee having problems and I'm sure I'm not the only one. If I can round up enough people who are going through the same thing I am, we may can work together to get this straightened out and possibly benefit from it. Certainly my case is not isolated. There have got to be others out there and I'm searching for their stories.

The wife had many issues with them when the state converted to them. The incompetence they exhibit is staggering, and I'm sure taxpayers are getting soaked for it, just like BCBS administering the State Health Care Plan.

You won't change anything alone.

When they first rolled it out, my husband was with DOT and they all sorts of problems getting vacation & other leave straight, or any over/comp time.

He was overpaid this month and can't quite figure it out....

And if you have a problem with BEACON, tech support isn't of much help.

That system is just FUBAR and has been, from the start. But you should go to your own Division's HR folks to address the issues. I don't know that anecdotes from other state employees will really "help your case"--which should stand on it's own whether 5000 people or zero have the same issues. Are you being given the run-around by HR? It's usually best to go through "proper channels" at least the first time, then go over their heads if they are unsatisfactory about addressing it. I haven't had a problem with BEACON since the beginning, and usually the problems that crop up systemwide have been conveyed to us and taken care of. But, I sympathize! Good luck resolving it!
