My husband and I currently live in CA and are planning on moving to the Raleigh area in June. I am a high school English teacher and was wondering if there are any current NC teachers that could give me some insight into the teaching profession in NC. Is it difficult to find work if you are from another state? Can I find the curriculum anywhere online?

Any information anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

You may want to review the posts in the Raleigh Metro Area Forum.

mm34b,

Thanks for the advice, but I've looked through the Raleigh area forum as well as browsed through the WCPSS website, but I was looking for more specific information. Nearly every school district's website will tell you that they are open to hiring any qualified teacher, but only someone who lives and works in that area can tell me the true attitude toward employing people from out-of-state. Perhaps I did not phrase my question properly as I was hoping to hear more about personal experiences as opposed to websites I can search out on my own. Are you a NC teacher? Do you, by chance, have some personal input in response to my questions?

I'm not a teacher, don't live in or near the Raleigh area and therefore can't help with the information you're seeking. If you ask your question in the Raleigh area subforum ( see forum rules at top of forum) perhaps you'll get some feedback.

Best wishes,

Cassie
