This forum is great for learning things that you may or may not have been able to learn through your own research, everyone helping each other out and trying to assist in what we all know can be great help -
but I think we all need to be reminded sometimes that a lot of what is said here is opinion - and perception
For example, questions asked?
do you like living in the south? yes many have answered they do and are imagine there are some who moved and don't like it - but again many people here are new to the area and time is the only predicator - and again just because you are happy, does that mean I will be
is there traffic - to a native living there, there is more, to someone coming from another area, there may not be any
Is there diversity? NC is under tremendous growth, what is there today may be different tomorrow.
So everyone must keep that in perspective here. I think many have lost sight of it - we (me included) are looking for all the answers and some comfort from this board which is impopssible -
we are looking to learn about an area from the few that are here, and none of us can spk for an entire population of people, just from our own experience(and many are postive and I think that is great as it the negative and there is no perfect place - i like to hear both sides of the story
if everything was so wonderful I would wonder more about that, then the negative.
each and every person here is unique and individual and while we all may have a great deal in common, our situations are all different - each area we are coming to or from are different. (too many generalizations)
The back and forth bashing - all I can say is until you walk in another man's shoes don't pass judgment.
At the end of the day, the only person we have to answer to is ourselves
We are all looking to for the same things as I have stated before this forum is just one tool - Use all the tools and build wisely as if you were building a house. With each tool, think about it, all the tools need to be used together (kind of like building a house - you can't do it with just a hammeer)
This is only life you will ever build. Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity. "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.
For many reasons, I intend to read more and post less so again I wish everyone finds what it is they are looking for, the best of luck and most importantly, 2 things money or moving can buy health and happiness !!!
Patty it's way too expensive to live in NJ... I think many are not convincible they are looking for a way out.. NJ is too greedy... This is not opinion but fact. Th fact that many are running to NC is proof.. They are looking to find a refuge from Greed which threatens to take their incomes and savings.
well said. Now, how do we convince people to buy houses in NY and NJ?
Ok Patty...I have it figured out. I'll test each and every person coming to the Raleigh/Cary area. If I determine that they have a great sense of humor and are just a positive to our area...I'll make them a "Southerner by the Grace of GOD" and we'll all be happy!
And Weis...you are one smart...person!!! Ha ha ha. What were YOU thinking???
FWIW, I was born and raised in northeast NJ, but I have a hard time convincing folks of that. Seems my love of NASCAR, country music, and pickup trucks sways their confidence...
At a time when the world is speeding up, I want to slow down, have some peace and quiet, and enjoy time with my wife and daughters.
My father-in-law is already calling my daughters "GRITS"...and we haven't even moved yet!

What do you mean threatens? They have taken our incomes and savings. I'm still looking for the "rich" one who wants to live by the the beach and throw a rock into the bay outside the back door. If I don't laugh, I'll start crying
