i'm looking for good places to run in the fayetteville area. i ran the cape fear river trail last weekend (the one that starts at clark park and ends at the soccer field). this weekend i'm going to raven rock state park, but i understand that it is more geared towards hiking than running. that's cool, but i'm always looking for good trails to run. long loops (6 miles+) are A++++. also, the flater, the better. any suggestions?

Raven Rock is definitely for hiking - no way you can run those trails. BTW, the biggest trail has been closed all summer.

Reid Ross school on Ramsey St has a nice running track that you can use when a school team isn't practicing.
Hope Mills Municipal Park has a good oval track, and I believe Lake Rim Park has one as well.

I had a friend that preferred the reservoir in Southern Pines though I can't tell you about the terrain.
