Wait ... now it's against the law for you to even know what's IN your ground water?
Dick Cheney, with all his might, money and power is doing everything he can to keep Fracking chemicals away from his drinking water... but you can't even know what chemicals they're using?
First Duke energy is polluting fresh water rivers and streams... now this?
What do they want us to drink? Perhaps the packaged and sold water they sell us?
This is being done by the people who are supposedly so against Socialism... but apparently Fascist Dictatorship is alright?
You're not even supposed to ask -- and if someone tells you what they're doing with your water, that person goes to jail???
I'm for fracking. But this time I see no defense for this.
I want each driller to be assigned a specific inert marking chemical that they must use in their fluid that would be on public record. That way if there is an accident there is no doubt who is responsible.
I'm for fracking as long as the frackers assume 100% liability for their fracking work. If they pollute any ground water or well water then it is their financial responsibility to make things right. If that means closing down their drilling operations well that's too bad. They should have to pay to bring clean water back to the areas they contaminated. That mean new wells or piped in city water.
You can't just drill for gas and or oil for profit without being responsible for your environmental impact.
Does anybody know if they plan on fracking in McCrory's neighborhood?

Bingo you hit the nail on the head the true underlying reason for this bill as Im very skeptical its over trade secret. If their is accident, contamination to H20, birth defects or deformities or future possible cancer related symptoms to either human, aquatic or mammal life and even vegetation like crops we eat and contamination to wells that majority homes have in near these it going to become more difficult to challenge.

I would be willing to bet lunch for everyone on CD that these "proprietary" chemical formulas already contain some manner of markers. Why? If there's some horrible mishap, you, your liability attorney and your insurance company are going to want to have ironclad proof it wasn't your fault little babies are catching on fire and whatnot. Guaranteed if it hit the fan, the drilling companies would miraculously (and in front of a judge in a closed hearing) be able to prove the chems weren't theirs' and, to have your cake and eat it too, build a strategy if it was your actions at fault.
This new law simply insures the general public will be kept out of the loop and unable to hold these parties responsible for their actions unless they're willing to engage in long and expensive private litigation.
In light of all the documented hazards to land and water??
In light of all the documented hazards to land and water that results from Fracking ... the only reason I can see being "for fracking" is profit.
SAD.
Soooo sad.
But this is even worse than potential hazards.
We all are aware of corruption ... and how consuming it is today.
"Just Trust Me" ... really?
What idiot puts that in front of all the potential hazards associated with fracking???
Really??
