15,984 new jobs being created in North Carolina (Charlotte, Raleigh: layoffs, live)

It would be very helpful to know how these job numbers compare to the number of new jobs NC averaged in years past. I believe the Charlotte Metro averaged about 17,500 new jobs a year prior to 2008.

Federal government stats (see link below) give a good basis to compare how far we have to go to affect the unemployment rate in this state.

I would love to know the total for 2010 and 2011 as well as I know what I recieve is either new companies or those that have laid off workers that make it in media but I know what it only small perentage of companies that are rehiring in this state.

this is good news. Most of jobs listed in this thread are ground breaking and jobs plan for next couple months and next few years so they wouldn't appear on statistics yet

Could be. Though job growth in NC is trending below the national rate at this point.
