Yes but you are not from NC there are things in the handbook relating to drivinf in North Carolina that are different than other area of usa.
If everyone drove as the North Carolina handbook suggest there will be less road rage plus in the handbook it covers road signs another test you will have to take except the test will only have the shape of the sign and you will need to tell what that sign is

LOL I got my first offical drivers license in NC back in 97. I have been driving in Germany for the last 8 years... Need a refresher on the rules. Just because you are a great driver in another state or country doesn't mean you will be able to pass the written test in another.

Actually the test is free. If you fail it, you don't owe a penny, but you don't get a license either. If you pass the test and obtain a license it will be $4 per year. How many years your license will be good for depends on your current age. It may be good for 8 years or less so that it will expire on your next birthday that is divisible by 5. For the math challenged, the means that every NC license will expire when the driver is 25, 30, 35, and so on.
