REAL soft ice cream...not "soft serve" but the real creamy soft ice cream that comes from a stand....we had tons of them in the Adirondacks. it was a real treat because those stands didn't open until May and usually closed just after Labor Day.
I miss fig squares.. (and Market Basket where I usually got them).. also still looking for some delicious Thai food that is worth the price.
Not much else I miss though :-)
Figs grow like weeds where we are in north central NC -- I use them to make the old fashioned oatmeal fig bars! Yummmmmmmy! Rhubarb grows well up here in this part of NC too -- planted some from Connecticut two years ago and they are doing great. I understand rhubarb can be grow in the mountains of NC as well.
Acadian Tourtiere (meat pie) and Cretons (pork spread)
