Many newcomers have come in here talking and wondering about places in NC and seem to be slightly confused at times on where things are, or cities are in relation to each other.

Many online maps or maps from bookstores made by private companies aren't kept very updated at all! Especially in a rapidly-growing state such as ours.

The NC state DOT publishes, every year, a brand-new updated state highway map (with many detailed city inserts) and gives them away free to whoever requests them.

Go online, at: apps.dot.state.nc.us/quickfind/Maps and have one mailed to you. Put in your mailing address and choose "State Transportation Map" and the number that you need.

This will help you tremendously to have in the car as you try to get to know NC! Trust me, these are the best road maps of NC you can get, since the roads are drawn by the very people who build them...and you don't have to pay for them.

Good find RR

Now I wonder what the folks over at the office are going to think after their normal daily request is 5 maps a day and today they will get a spike around noon to about 300 per day haha
