Default Most affordable larger city in North Carolina

Saw something on a previous post that sparked my interest... What does everyone think the most affordable city to live in is? (Really talking about Raleigh and Charlotte but anyone with experience in any other cities feel free to throw them in there.) I am from the country south of Raleigh, and am currently starting my senior year at Appalachian State in Boone as a Geography and Planning major with a minor in GIS. Thinking about seeking employment in NC after school and was just contemplating where I might get the best bang for my buck. Thanks all!

I see most jobs in the GIS profession starting off anywhere between 50 and 70k. I already have some money in savings as well as far as buying a house goes. So something in that range for a single 24 y/o male...

you probably going to end up living in suburbs of either raliegh or Charlotte to find affordable starter home.

I think a trip to both cities will help you decide which is more something you can see yourself living. If you want a real laid back lifestyle similar to that of boone then look in the triad.

Here some posistions I have located on web
Charlotte, North Carolina Tech jobs: Charlotte GIS Developer Tech job North Carolina
All gis specialist jobs in Charlotte, NC | Indeed.com
US-NC-Charlotte-GIS Developer (Smallworld)

GIS Analyst jobs in Raleigh, NC 27699 - Premier Personnel Services
Find Jobs - Software Production Manager Jobs in Raleigh, NC

you have to scroll the list here it contains charlotte metro and raliegh metro
GIScareers.com - View GIS Jobs

Good luck both are cool cities but just find one that will meet your lifestyle.
