Default Property taxes

Hello, can anyone tell me if there is property tax on vehicles in NC as there is in SC? It seems that in SC you have to pay property tax every year on your personal vehicle and I need to know if that is the same in NC? Does anyone know?
Thanks

All 100 counties in North Carolina consider your motor vehicle(s) as "personal property" thus subject to county taxation just like homes and land. It's a county tax as opposed to a state tax. Your tax rate will vary depending on your county of residence. Some are high and some are low.

In my county (Henderson), the current tax rate is $0.515 per $100 of value. On a car worth 30K, the personal property tax bill would be $154.50 per year. In addition, if you live within a city limits, you will also be taxed by the city.

Depends on the tax rate the specific city uses. In my case the city tax rate is lower than the county rate.
