Fledgling rubber recycler Elastrix plans to open in Pilot Mountain and hire up to 54 by the end of 2012. The company is owned by Duncan King of Wilkes County and Bruce Maxwell of California and will operate in a 96,000-square-foot building.
I would assume that they will be recycling tires and the like. Hope Pilot Mtn. is ready for it. I remember years ago. A tire recycler here in W-S that caught fire. Talk about fun. That thing burn like nothing you have ever saw. It took days to put out. Now, W-S has a large fire dept. Just think about Pilot Mtn. Might need to add a few fire fighters on the payroll.
