We were paying over $12,000 in property taxes and the schools were not doing a great job at all. My DD, who has the IEP just got her report card and got all A's and B's. We have worked out the IEP situation and all is well here

Well that honestly is a relief to hear. Maybe it is just this particular school, or maybe because their still in elementary? The 5th grade is just too easy for my kid. I remember constantly doing research, reports, making Diaramas, going over speech's with her in 3rd and 4th grade in NJ. We were always doing school projects. She hasn't done any of that here. Every night I ask her if she needs help, the answer is always no. I was alway's helping out with something. She just got all 3's and 4's on the report card.(the number grading is new to me, they don't have letter grades here in elementary the 3's and 4's are A's and B's.) Maybe it's just Kudo's to her new teacher, I don't know. I want to see some reports and projects though. Something. Your post was inspiring, I will give it more time. I hope my next post on this subject is as positive as yours.

Our family is moving from No Calif to the Raleigh area and need someplace to start the processes rolling for our disabled adult son. We'll need adult day program info and other supportive services. Is there one starting point in NC or a better county lifeline than another? Help!
