Hey, sorry I dont log on much here unless I need something then I check out questions. I am in Hickory and have no problems with Cable. I have direct tv for that a Dish. I have Charter (their local cable company) for broadband and vorizen for cell phone....No problems! Just the norm with dropped calls once in a blue moon.

You will probably not be able to get DSL in Granite Falls. We were really surprised when we were told by AT&T they didn't offer this service in the town we are moving to, Newton. I really freaked out because we need high speed internet for us to be able to work from home.
I called Charter and they service our area....1-877-GO-CHARTER is their phone number. The only problem is our house in new and they don't have us in the system so they have to add us. They told us it would take 3-5 business days to verify they can service us even though our neighbors all around us have Charter. Then it would take another 3-5 business days for someone to come out to install. I complained a little and they said it really only takes 24 hours for us to get into the system.
I had no idea it would be this complicated. We really wanted DSL because we could just transfer from FL to NC, but oh well, cable is much faster. We are going with a deal Charter is offering, 3 services for $109...for one year. Maybe after a year we will be able to get DSL! Hope this helps you out!
Check out any area before you decide to make sure you can get ANY service. I wish I would've done all my homework a few weeks ago! We are moving to NC in 5 days and I should have had this all in place before now...
