Henderson County officials have offered an unidentified company $3.75 million in incentives to start operations in Mills River. The company is believed to be Sierra Nevada Brewing, a northern California-based microbrewery.
Case Farms expects to add 100 jobs next year at its chicken-processing plant in Morganton. It says it will add a second shift at the plant, which will receive a $500,000 grant from the N.C. Rural Economic Development Center.
Germany-based Punker plans to open a factory in Hickory that will employ 62 to make fan wheels and blowers. The average annual salary for the jobs will be $35,850, slightly above the Catawba County average of $34,216.

CEO Bill Medlin says the company is moving to be closer to what it considers the South's best whitewater and the creative community in Asheville.
Legacy should be in operation in Fletcher by July, hiring up to 50 to fill new positions in administration, mold maintenance, facility maintenance, kayak molding and assembly and shipping/warehousing.
The Burlington City Council approved $55,000 Tuesday for Burlington Technologies, which had sought the incentives to hire 110. The company is competing for a federal contract to make Army dress pants and says it could add 84 more jobs within three years.
German chemical giant BASF is moving the headquarters of its plant-science division to Research Triangle Park, where it already employs about 200. It will add nearly 125 workers there.

Röchling Engineering Plastics is expanding its Gastonia plant, creating 15 jobs to its 145 this year and investing $4 million in the upgrades. The improvements will allow the company to make the largest thermoplastic sheets in the world, according to officials.
XPO Logistics will create a North American operations center in Charlotte, bringing at least 200 jobs with an average annual wage of $56,606. The Michigan-based company will add jobs in logistics, finance and accounting, information technology and human resources.
