Is it illegal to visit relatives in N. Carolina, park your RV in their yard and live in the Rv while you are there?

Far any state laws-- no.
Depending on the county, city or if their is an HOA then it may be a problem.
I would contact one or if all three apply in the place you plan to park the RV.
I know someone who is doing what you are wanting to do.
