Default Opinions on NC cities

My husband and I are considering relocating to NC next year. I've done some research and would like opinions on the following cities from residents. We have no children so information on schools isn't necessary. We just want a nice safe place to live that offers mass transit, affordable housing, good job opportunities, and isn't out in the boonies.
Charlotte
Durham
Kannapolis
Matthews
Garner
Indian Trail
Mint Hill
Hendersonville
Harrisburg
Holly Springs
Fuquay-Varina
Lewisville
Monroe
Apex
Unionville
I know the list is long, but please help

Based on all your requirements your best choices are:

parts of Charlotte
Matthews
Mint Hill

Possibly Hendersonville, though their transportation system is probably not very extensive. And some people might add Durham to the list, though not all of it is safe so you'd have to find out what the best side of town is.

I would suggest Charlotte if mass transit a main priority.
It largest transit system in the state and covers alot of ground.
Good selection of various job fields and hopefully housing within your range.

Kannapolis may work but it has limited mass transit but it close enough to Charlotte to enjoy it amenities.
Good luck in your quest.

For what you requested, Charlotte would be the best bet. Good mass tansit system. Light rail line opening in a couple of months going into Pineville. Would also recommend Matthews, Mint Hill, and Harrisburg.
