Exclamation Health Department Score

Anybody actually paying attention to the Healt Department Score for Restaurants here in North Carolina??? And if you noticed a low score, do you still eat there? Do you wonder why the score is so low?
I went to a Chinese Restaurant, the score was 82 -... I left.

And whats the worst score you have seen or know of and please tell us where...!!

Henderson County Department of Public Health: Food Vendor Grades

oh YES whether it is dine in or fast food.

The place has to have 92 or higher or I turn around.
those pizza delivery places I have them confirm on the phone what there score is before I give them my phone order.

I saw one place that had 101 and I couldnt figure that out since it wasnt a glass in box that use surgical gloves to get your food lol.

I get paranoid when I eat in another state and they dont use this system.

We actually walk out the door of any restaurant with less than a 95. And before we leave, I tell them why. I have even gone thru drive-up windows, seen the score for the first time as I am set to pay and then cancelled my order. There are just too many good places to eat to have to take a chance on one like that - in my opinion.

I find these scores rather intriguing.

My 9-year-old son's school's cafeteria has a 101. Walked into a deli in Matthews a couple of weeks back with same kid, 86 posted, he freaked and walked out ... we had no choice but to follow. Good thing one of us is paying attention.

Mecklenburg has the actual reports verbatim. Mecklenburg County, NC - Digital Health Department

I think 95 is pretty high standards. Often times, an establishment will get a 90 based on all non-critical violations. I will not eat at a place w/below a 90. However, if they get reinspected and consistently get high scores, it means they have taken the appropiate action and I would eat there again. I have taken a lot of food safety courses and know what are the most serious infractions. Handwashing (obviously), proper food temperatures, and storage w/o cross contamination. Often times, restaurants will place raw meat over ready to eat foods. Big NO-NO.

This is the site for state standards:
