Posters on other forums certaintly agree with me. Basically saying Fayetteville and Durham are the safest places earth on compared to Rocky Mount.

Thats how bad Rocky Mount is. The violent crime has spread to even the nicest neighborhoods. The mall is 90 percent gangbangers.

And wouldn't ya know it Dare friggin' county has a higher crime index than Edgecombe, where the "bad" part of Rocky Mount is. Shoot, even little ol' Washington county had a higher violent crime rate. Stay off the mean streets of Creswell, I tells ya.

I wouldn't be concerned with the crime in Rocky Mount. Unless I were a prostitute, of course.

both of those placed are a far cry from where they were when they got thier bad reputation. Especially Durham. Fayetteville has not come as far, but is to a point where crime happens but is easily avoidable. This is coming from someone who has a very low opinion of Fayetteville, though I am very impressed by the strides it has made.

My favorite bit of info from the SBI stats mm34b posted is that Cary has had the greatest increase in crime, and apart from Gastonia, apparently the only larger city in NC to post an increase. Must be all those Yankees coming down and bringing their big city ways with them.

I'm no fan or Rocky Mount, but did the mayor pee in your Wheaties or something?

What does the mayor have to do with anything?

Either way they are pumping so much money to "revitalize downtown" when they should be putting all that money into more police officers.
