I grew up in Northern Va and visited Silver Spring many times. I'd much rather walk around Silver Spring than Rocky Mount ANY day.

Yup, Rocky Mount is no Mogadishu.

How can you compare these LARGE CITIES to a city of ~50k? You can't. Plus compared to the surrounding area, there is a difference.

NO WAY. You must have not seen all of Silver Spring (and the area I lived in is not called Silver Spring, but it s SS zip code, I'm not going to name it), because you wouldn't step foot in my neighborhood at night. I would walk every neighborhood at night in Rocky Mount. There are way too many MS-13 gang members.

You must be thinking of Rocky Mount VA. Rocky Mount NC looks like a war zone compared to Silver Spring

Raleigh being on that list tells you how hillarious and BS that is.

I was mistaken. The "city" numbers are not adjusted for population differences. Only the "county" numbers are adjusted for population differences. Sorry about that.

I've lived in rocky mount for 9 years. It's a good city. My family uses the mall, it'snot full of 'gangbangers'. Lol. We take walks in the city parks, they are wonderful. I have never been victimized. My neighborhood is 50 percent black/50 percent white. Good neighbors, respectful of each other. If rocky mount truly is the 4th highest in crime, then I feel good about our country! I enjoy rocky mount and my family is happy & safe.
