Well good news for Rocky Mount is that Lumberton and Kinston respectively have topped it on the most dangerous NC cities list.

I feel MUCH safer in fayetteville and especially in Durham than Rocky Mount. They dont even hold a candle.

Hell, Rocky Mount's mall is more dangerous than most places in those 2 cities combined.
Maybe the small size will make the chances of you witnessing a crime more possible....causing an area to be"more dangerous".
If you put 10 alligators in your swimming pool, you will see an alligator everywhere you look
If you put 10 alligators in the ocean, you may see an alligator from time to time, but the other 9 are still in the ocean, you just don't see them....Get my point?
You figure, Rocky Mount is small enough to be a NEIGHBORHOOD of Raleigh, Durham or Fayetteville. it's easier to avoid a bad neighborhood in Raleigh, Durham or Fayetteville. If you are in a small town that has crime, the whole city will seem "violent". The same goes for Goldsboro

How can you compare these LARGE CITIES to a city of ~50k? You can't. Plus compared to the surrounding area, there is a difference.
I agree

Assuming you were close to Roanoke Rapids, it was probably the paper mill you smelled.

Lumberton recently had a home invasion where the grandfather grabbed a gun and shot the three robbers also intent on raping his grand daughter. News articles from the area quote neighbors as saying how bad things have gotten.

Well in my opinion I'd say Gastonia is way more dangerous than Rocky Mount. Rocky Mount and their crime ain't **** compared to Gastonia, but yea idk Gastonia is pretty rough.

Lol nash county just made number 7 in msn's murder capitol list. If all of rocky mount was in nash it would have been top 3 along with Baltimore and st. Louis. So be more wrong.

Gastonia never shows up in these lists. Its paradise
