I belive there should be a third option. "Don't Care" or more politically correct "Neither Support nor Oppose" . Sadly, I htink the majority of people would fall in to that category

There could also be "Don't know enough to make an educated response"

Full disclosure. I fall somewhere in between the two. I don't know enough about the law to support or oppose it. I honestly probably won't be making it out to the polls on the eighth. My concern in opposing the law is denying the ability to the get the legal protection and benefits of marriage to same-sex couples. My support of the bill would be because of the thought that it prevents a slippery slope where those benefits are extended beyond married couples to other civil unions and resulting legal consequences and abuses.

I don't know enough about the law to vote on this poll, let alone on May 8th. Sad but true.

It is a message "we hate you based solely on a bronze age superstition" and for no other reason. This amendment will make that message perfectly clear to approximately 10+% of NC citizens.

What other minority is next. Left handed people, red heads, each represent a similar sized minority?

The people that support this would not consider stopping 1 out of 10 people the meet on the street and screaming "I hate you" at them, for the simple reason they are too cowardly, but in the seclusion of the voting booth, motivated by doctrines of hate they will send the same message.

The supporter also chose when to help their cause, by having this issue on the ballot for what is for all practical purposes a republican presidential primary. A more accurate name for the Republican party at this point in history would be the fundamental christian party. Of course "non-affiliated" voters can vote in the primary of their choice, and any registered voter can vote on the amendment.

So registered democrats and non-affiliated need to vote NO on May 8.

The purpose is to send a clear message to gays that "you are hated". It serves no other purpose.

Prop 8 in CA was overturned because;
"Proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians in California, and to officially reclassify their relationships and families as inferior to those of opposite-sex couples," Judge Stephen Reinhardt wrote in the decision.

So I guess you two won't be getting married. Great

But that is where your choice about who can and cannot stops.

I wish the Amendment title would describe everything it is against.

Well, you know WHY it's worded like it is! They don't want folks to know the whole story. Typical disgusting right-wing politics.
