If all the counties were dry, then there would be no drunk drivers. Liquor by the drink is consumed before driving anywhere. It is consumed at the bar or dinner table.
And yes those liquor guzzlers would not stop until they have a right to fill their brains with booze. Looks like we have another bunch about like them that insist on having their poison. Have you read the statistics lately on what percentage of gay couples have aids. I saw the statistics lately and I can't remember exactly what it was, but the percentage was high. You would think the governor would be for keeping down health costs. Some people have said that the health plan and aids will be the combination that bankrupts our nation.

If you watched the news this morning, we Americans should be proud of how the police dept in Mississippi handled the children of Ms. Bain....pretty decent of them. We should be proud of Mississippi and there people. The Gov is stupid and hateful for making this type of remark and if she does not want Amendment 1 - move somewhere else. Her constituents voted for it, she should back the NC Citizens she represents.

Yes it does, because from my point of view, and many others in this country John Edwards was for a backward socialist agenda. Regardless of what you think, not everyone shares your point of view

So, you obviously don't drink...but please tell me what substance it is that causes the level of delusion quoted in this post? Whatever it is should DEFINITELY not be in the system of anybody behind the wheel of a vehicle to be sure!
BTW...I'm teetotal myself; and nothing you say here makes any sense whatsoever. Please refrain from making a mockery out of those of us with common sense. For the sake of non-drinkers, North Carolinians, Americans, and really humanity in general.

Bev Perdoo has nothing to lose, so that's why she said that, inadvertently hurting the Democrats chance to hold onto the governorship.
The reason she's not running again, is because she way I over her head and just doesn't have the competence to be a governor.

In America, a higher percentage of gays than straights have AIDS in the US (more straight people have it around the world). This is true. But what does that have to do with two committed people wanting to marry? If neither of them have AIDS, or if both of them have AIDS, they're not going to be transmitting it.
Of course way more people in the South have AIDS and other STDs than in any other region of the country- this includes gays and straights. There is also a massive decline in new AIDS cases throughout the US because of condom use.
AIDS health care is something we already fund through the Ryan White Fund and other initiatives. We pay for people with or without health care It's not going to cost more if we allow gay people to marry.

That NCN poster is amusing. It can't be a real person--it sounds like somebody out of a skit exaggerating stereotypes about the south.
The only person I've ever known who had moonshine made at a family still--jars of it that his brother would bring when he visited NJ--was from North Carolina. To claim that North Carolinians drink less than "Yankees" is pretty funny! At first thought, I would say that was the exact opposite--in my perception, southerners are the heavier drinkers--but in reality, the percentage of boozers probably has little to do with location.

No it didn't. North Carolina upheld marriage as it has existed on every society, time immemorial, throughout the entire globe. Up until 20-years ago, the idea that anything could exist outside of marriage between one man and one woman was preposterous except in society's where concentrated power allowed a few elite to practice polygamy. I don't even know if you could call those societies but moreso concentrations of power.
The family stood at the center of civilization, as it should. By far the most secure setting in which to raise a child is in the relationship of a biological mother and father. This is abundantly clear. And we as a society has gradually drifted backwards over the past 50-100 years.
Funny, when no fault divorce was introduced, proponents swore up and down it wouldn't fundamentally change the family structure, that divorce rates wouldn't dramatically increase. How right were any of those thoughts? And the same force driving that movement is driving the backwards movement to change marriage to anything other than one man and one woman.
That other individuals want to go charging backwards and devalue marriage to the point that childbirth and child-rearing has nothing to do with the idea of marriage, which is at best some abstract notion of romantic love, is besides the point. It will no doubt ravage already low birth rates and cheapen the whole institution of marriage.
North Carolina stood up for dignified notion of society. That the Kim Kardashians of the world aren't happy about it, so what?
Dueling banjos? Whatever. I have little tolerance for that ignorance. Perhaps they can go trash Thai people because they don't uphold gay marriage. Or Nepali individuals? All backward hicks, right? Romanians? Russians?
