The people of North Carolina have spoken.

No, Mooresboro, the majority of the 1/3 of registered voters voted for the amendment. Most registered voters were sure that people were smart enough to vote no & stayed home.

Too bad we didn't get a chance to vote for an anti-ignorance amendment. Now that's an amendment we could really use right now.

You can fill your head with all the excuses you want, but i am positive that if every single North Carolinian in the state would have voted on the issue the percentage voting for amendment one would be even higher.

I know more natives than transplants. Most were not for the amendment, here on my end of the county, but didn't vote.
If you're just pleased as punch with the legislature spending time & money on this crap, you must be just fine with the unemployment rate.

The topic would have never been brought up in the first place if it wasn't for you liberals and you're political correctness.

How many North Carolinian's would have voted against the Civil Rights act of 1964 if it were put on a ballot? Civil rights issues should never be put to a popular vote! Ever hear of the concept called tyranny of the majority?

What is obvious about that map to me is 1.3 million people isn't the majority in a state with nearly 10 million people in it.
It must be comforting for you to lie in bed at night with a smile on your face knowing you denied your fellow human beings a basic civil right. Just like those that voted against giving rights to women or African Americans....you are on the WRONG side of history.

How can you even compare this to the civil rights act? This is a whole different issue, gay people marrying is just morally wrong and it's that simple, its obvious the majority of North Carolinian's AND citizens of this country agree with me. Political correctness has spiraled way out of control.

Sorry, Mooresboro, I'm moderate, not liberal. Keep trying to justify your vote.
While you're at it, revel in the choice of unemployment or going to SC for a job. The county commissioners blew the Electrolux plant that would have brought 1200 jobs.
