Fayetteville gets a bad rap. I have lived here almost all of my life except for brief forays into Durham and when I went to college.
You can always find bad places in a city. There are plenty of nice folks here, and nice places to live.
When I first got married I lived in Haymount Court Apartments on Forrest Road. I don't know what the rent is these days, but my 21 year old God daughter was living there last year on a waitresses' pay. They are two bed room with hard wood floors, in an older, prestigious part of town. 910-323-0200. Your daughter would attend Alma Easom school, which is a wonderful K-1 school right in the neighborhood (I'm a teacher so I know the good schools!

Welcome to Alma Easom Primary School's Home Page (http://www.aees.ccs.k12.nc.us/index.htm - broken link).
You might find a place out in Hope Mills, NC, which is where I work, but I live in Fayetteville. It's right beside the Fayetteville city limits, and a rather quiet little-town type place.
I'd be happy to give you advice on places. risaenglish at enbarq dot com.
