Default Hows Shelby N.C to live in ?

I have been offered a transfer to Shelby. Schools are not a concern my baby is a senior this year so it will be just me and my wife. I have lived in Texas my whole live and have worked for the same company 20yrs. The plant site I work at is being shutdown so I have been offered a transfer to Shelby or two sites in Kentucky.
WE will be looking for a house between 1600 and 2000sf. What can we expect to pay for this size of house?

Shelby is on the outskirts of metro Charlotte. Nice area about 45 mins away. Not familiar with the home prices there, but if similar to Charlotte, homes are relatively cheap.

Default Shelby is a nice town

Hi,

My husband and I along with our four children moved to Shelby almost 4 years ago. Shelby is a nice town to live in. It is small town atmosphere but with a big city feel with the theater and arts available here. Charlotte and the airport are only 45 min away and very easy to get to if you need a bigger city fix. All in all, Shelby was a good move for us, and I recommend it.

Let me know if you want more information...

Hi Ken,
You might want to consider Rutherford County just west of Shelby. A whole different world. Lake Lure to the west, Golden Valley to the north, Forest City, Rutherfordton, Bostic, and a lot of wide open country in between. Just a thought.
