(sometimes lower than take out tax) Lately it's just TAX!!! I guess they can't get a handle on what they're charging just like I can't.
To clarify, it can't be identified as "FOOD TAX" because it is not to be confused with the 1, 2 or 3% food taxes used in supermarkets. And "TAX!!!" is the actual line on the receipt, not me being funny. Someone at my Mickey D's has a sense of humor I guess.

Wow. Love the comparisons, or attempts anyway. Here and on several other forums/threads. Lots of facts and figures, some having experienced my own self. Bottom line is, a tax is a tax is a tax. Unless a person is living off free land without any commerce, they are living (somewhere), and are gonna pay, someone, somehow, someway. It's a system put in (by all levels) that will never, ever go away, and that unfortunately, with the ever-increasing population and debt (at all levels), will only get worse. When property taxes aren't enough, they'll be taxes to pay on stuff no-one owns; when NC sales tax reaches 10%, NY and the like will be at 15%, etc. etc. Yep, to paraphrase that saying about nothing lasts forever, tax us until death do us part (but there's a tax to pay when checking out as well, so taxes are indeed forever).
