Default Property Taxes NC/SC

Hello,

We have been looking for a house in SC and will still probably move there but we are also considering NC. Next week will be our fourth trip there to look at houses and this time we will fly into Charlotte and drive to outside Myrtle Beach area. So far the property taxes on the houses we are finding in SC have been between $600 & $1,000 a year, can we expect to find the same for a house in the $200,000 range in NC?

What towns can someone suggest to check out in NC that are between Charlotte & Myrtle Beach but within an hour of the beach and a major airport?

We found a house on the internet that's really nice in Whiteville, NC? Any opinions on that area? Thank you

LoriRN911 is on a distinguished road
Hi,

We just bought a home in SC , April 05,(Don't know anything about NC) but it's 20 mins from Myrtle Beach. The name of the town is Conway and it's quiet and country. Our taxes on a brand new house are $650 year. Lots of land. We are moving from Boston. Check it out. Nice place to live.

That's exactly where we have been looking. You said you bought a house but did you move there? We have been looking since last April but we want something very specific so it's taking awhile. We also looked in Loris & Longs, any opinion of them? I'm moving from NJ so it would be a similiar change for me as for you from Boston. I have friends that moved to that area and love it, you get so much more for your money.

I still would like to know if the property tax in the towns right over the border are similiar if anyone knows?
