Okay....somewhere near Albemarle, Oakboro, Locust or any place somewhat close to those areas. The closest I have found so far is Charlotte and I know the delivery charges would be pretty high. Just trying to save as much $$ and find the closest place to my home. Thanks for any help here........

Man! Never heard of those places either. I'll have to look it up.
Pretty obvious there aren't any rental places for forklifts near me. UGH!! If I can't find it either through the yelow pages or from the good people here then I guess it doesn't exist!!
Not sure where you live, but try United Rental, Sunbelt, RSC, NEFF or The Cat Store. These are the big boys of the rental biz, they will deliver anywhere. Make sure you check delivery prices and Loss Damage Waiver prices, then play them off on each other. Ask for the salesman in your area, I don't think they get commisions on delivery charges and are likely to lower the charge if you push the issue. I
Let me know how you made out, I have been a contruction manager for many years and use these rental companies all the time. But, never in Charlotte. Any good salesman will match the right forktruck for the job.
We are going to check out "United" today. We decided to take a ride up to Salisbury as it is probably the closest one to us. I will let you know how it turns out. Hopefully those delivery charges won't be terribly high although I sort of figure they will be!! Being a private party and only using them one time won't give us much barginning power!!

You got that right about being a one timer. It should be close to $95 each way. You can ask if they have other deliveries or pick-ups in your area. Maybe you can postpone your rental until a truck is your area, you may save 40-50 bucks. They get you on the loss damage waiver which is about 12-15% of the rental and covers basically nothing unless the machine is struck by lightning. Your home owner insuance might cover the rental but then you have to show a certificate of ins. to have it removed from the bill. If your renting a basic forktruck that runs on a smooth surface (3k lbs)about $150 a day maybe even less. If you need a rough terrain that booms out (telescopic) to put things on a roof, about $400.
