Not to confuse this with the other thread on road side trash :d This thread is about more people are recycling in this state.

The volume of trash disposed of per person in North Carolina in 2012 dipped below one ton for the second year in a row, reaching a two-decade low. The number first began dipping when the economic downturn took hold.

They should also work with local apartment complexes to provide convenient recycling services for them. I have lived in a couple of apartments in NC and none have offered any type of recycling program, even though tons of glass, plastic bottles, and cardboard were being thrown away.
