NC instant title question? (DMV, military, vehicle)

My husband is military and we recently moved to NC. We switched the title from our previous state. I applied for an instant title at the DMV in our town.(elizabeth city) Online it says the instant title will be mailed to you the next day, but the woman at the DMV told me that doesn't matter and I'm going to receive it in 5 to 7 days? I dont understand why they would charge me for the instant title if it's going to take the same amount of time. Does anyone have experience with this?

If you make a mistake on a title (NC) can you put a line threw it and re-write it beside the mistake?

No. That voids the title.
