Republican Gov. Pat McCrory is eliminating the state's office for Latino affairs, a move that some say shows the administration's lack of care for the group. The governor's office said its duties would be shifted to the office of community and constituent affairs.

Good. The office of community and constituent affairs seems to be inclusive of all citizens, as any taxpayer-supported government agencies should be.

Everybody knows Republicans hate Latinos and want to kill all of them, so this move makes perfect sense and was fully expected. Next, we'll see Pat McCrory wanting to set up special "camps" for Latinos.

Latinos? If state government is going to get into the identity-politics business, then I wast a special outreach office for the affairs of people whose ancestors came from the UK, and another special outreach office for the affairs of people who are heterosexual. The lack of such offices clearly shows the lack of concern for these groups by state government.

Yep, that Republican attempt to reach out to people who are not rural/heterosexual/evangelical/old/Whites is going just as I predicted it would.

And what say you?

When people post things without their own contribution, one must wonder and ask why.

Oh, my apologies. I read your post too quickly, and I do see that you said what you thought about this issue.

But you know, if people are supposed to be treated equally in this state or country, then why do we need special outreaches. We're all the same.
best,
toodie
