Question Fayetteville NC

Hello all! I am interested in moving from NY to Fayetteville. I have an 8 year old son, so I'd like to know how the schools are. I'd also like to know about prices of utilities, ie cable, phone, electric. Also, how is the job market. I've been looking on the Fayetteville Observer and I see some rental houses for $500-$800 for 3 -4 bedrooms. Is this the average rental price?
I'd appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks and have a nice day!

You really need to be careful where you live in Fayetteville both in terms of schools and neighborhoods. Good school districts include Terry Sanford and Jack Britt. Although a rental home in one of those school districts could be more than $800. Outside of town, there is Stedman and Eastover. Time Warner is running a promotion that offers phone, cable and internet for $99/month. I think water here is very expensive. We pay about $70 for public water/sewer. Hope this information is helpful.

I pay $40-$50 a month for water/sewage/trash. Yes $500-$800 is the typical going rate for rentals here. Can't speak for the schools. As for the job market, I can't speak (I'm here via the military) but I had 2 friends who got out of the military here and couldn't find a job worth a damn in this town so they ended moving a few hours north and found jobs almost overnight.
