Still wearing T-shirts in Asheville too.

So far this month, the average high has been 72F and the average low has been 49F. Don't believe those long-range forecasts. They're rarely correct more than 2-3 days in advance in the Asheville area mountains.

Thanks! When I was there last month it was hot. I'll check the forecast right before I leave and plan to do the layering thing.

I'm not sure about next week, but I do no there is a powerful cold front for this time of year coming down Friday. So it will be down right chilly in Asheville Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They are saying highes will be in the upper 50's here in Raleigh this weekend on WRAL. Asheville is much colder than Raleigh. So they will probably be in the Mid 50's or lower for highs, and flirting with the freezing mark and night.

One thing I can promise you, it will be chilly at night in Asheville!

That's a great idea, the wind chill can be cold there.

Temps on Friday will seem even colder because of a ferocious north wind that will make it seem like late November.

October can be quite chilly in North Carolina. If you think it has been chilly lately, wait til this weekend. ON Friday, daytime highs will only reach the 50's in most of the state, with portions of the west only reaching the 40's. At night, temps will fall into the 20's and 30's, as many areas see some frost. And to add to the excitement, parts of western North Carolina may see some snow or snow flurries this weekend. Temps on Friday will seem even colder because of a ferocious north wind that will make it seem like late November. Let's hope the good ole eastern trough stays with us until April, ensuring plently of snow for us snow lovers!

You were right. Today was an absolutely beautiful day. Lotsa sunshine, nice temps. Thanks for the weather forecast. I love "Indian summer," too.

Regards,

Cassie
