Based on your posts, I think that you're old enough to have talked to people who lived through Prohibition. How'd that go?

No more of the packaged, advertised and industrial version of tobacco. At all.

Want to smoke? No problem. Go to the farmers market and buy a hand or two...
find some papers and then roll one up.

Because making vice illegal works soooo well.

Yet another disgusting backwards bill from Raleigh.

They want to take away airports & water systems because the cities are too stupid to run them... BUT.... everyone has the right to be able to smoke in public places.... I guess freedom tea bagging is a 1 way street.

This bill is just as disgusting as people smoking in public. Its very, very rude to smoke in public. If you won't even smoke inside your own house, what makes anyone think the rest of the world wants to smell it???

Come on Raleigh; stop being spiteful to the cities....

Stop blaming Raleigh. Raleigh is where the government happens but its representation is now tilted to give power to rural parts of the state....thanks to the Republican redistricting. I hope everyone in NC is enjoying their tea party led, Obama hating government.
If you are want to point a finger at a city, how about pointing to the city that gave us the governor who will undoubtedly sign all these bills?

Raleigh is the Capitol... Hence the "from" in "from Raleigh"....

I'm going to continue to say "Raleigh" because thats the Capitol. Just like when I refer to federal government I call it DC... Sometimes I say "General Assembly". Obviously with Raleigh playing #2 in NC as largest cities and I said "stOp being spiteful to cities" ... What makes you think I would exclude Raleigh from NC cities...?

And as far as "the city" where the governor will rubber stamp it; I really don't care about how progressive and relevant Raleigh or anyother North Carolinian city is supposed to be to Charlotte... I am more concerned with our local power being stripped away week after week.

Except rural interests have almost always held sway in Raleigh until now, and the vast majority of the Republican leadership in the GA is from urban and suburban districts. Pretty much all the crazy bills filed from reps out in the sticks have died in committee.

Then you need to be looking toward people out in Matthews, Gastonia, Kannapolis, Concord, etc. They're the ones voting in reps and senators looking to strip Charlotte's right to local control.

I'm well aware who I need to be look toward. Even some in Mecklenburg county. With Rucho being the poster child.

I'm fairly informed so the whole nit picking in my dialect isn't really necessary.

As a lifetime non smoker I can get behind this, however I would also want a law that would place an astronomical fine on anyone who litters with smoking refuse.

Flip a butt out the window of your car and get caught....$5000. And the beach has sand, but it is not a giant ashtray.
