Why do you think Lake Norman exists? It was built for the purpose of cooling nuclear reactors. It was created by damming the Catawba River in 1963 and named after the president of Duke Power, Norman Cocke. Good thing they didn't name it Lake Cocke!

I love Lake Norman I would still feel the same way if it was called Lake Cocke. It's a nice lake, stop raining on my parade

well really the water on a power plant lake is very clean and warm because it is used to cool the reactor. I am not usually afraid to swim in those places but dontknow if I would eat any fish!!! if you see a fish with arms run!!! LOL just joking

I don't swim in any lakes anyway, they creep me out. I will however go boating and sit outside at a restaurant and look at the Lake. It's very peacful to me.

I am really not a water person so I agree with you there, I dont like boats either but do like looking at them very relaxing. crater lake in oregon was always wonderful to just sit and look at, to cold to swim though.
