Default New York-Florida_North Carolina

Hi. My family and I recently moved to Florida from the hustle and bustle of N.Y. Well, unfortunately this is not the place we thought it would be. I equate it to being on vacation and overstaying it! We are looking to join the ranks of others here that are moving to North Carolina, known as halfbacks because they move halfway back to N.Y. We will be visiting N.C. next month and looking at the following towns: Wesley Chapel--Weddington--and Waxhaw.
If anyone has any information they could provide on those towns or North Carolina living in general, I would love some replies and would greatly appreciate them. Thank You.
Dino

Default Cary, NC and Catholic schools

I am considering relocating to NC. I can move anywhere in NC or VA since I will work in those areas, but want to live near where pharmaceutical or healthcare companies are located for future opportunities, if needed.
I have considered Cary, NC because it is near the Catholic High School (Cardinal Gibbons) and has a grade school (St. Michael).
Living NEAR a good Catholic grade and high school is important to us. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thank you.

My girlfriend and I are considering moving to the RTP area of NC. We have been looking to rent a home or townhouse in one of the 4 towns of Morrisville, Cary, Chapel Hill or Apex. If anyone has any more information on current demographics, it would be appreciated. My girlfriend is an Accounts Payable Manager for a well known company in MA and is looking for placement in NC. I am a general Manager in retail/service industry also looking for placement. Any assistance and/or information is appreciated.

Mgrmitch,
If you're in retail management, I've heard that a great company to work for is Harris Teeter, a grocery chain primarily in NC, but also in 5 or 6 other Southeastern states. Their website is harristeeter.com. They're opening about 20 new stores within the year, I believe 9 of them in the Raleigh area. Another one would be The Fresh Market. They're a privately owned company similar to Whole Foods, but on a smaller scale. We're moving to the Raleigh area in April, and are very much looking forward to it! We visited in March and loved it! Good luck to you and I hope this info, helps! (To check out tons of rental properties, go to www.apartmentguide.com. It's an extremely helpful website, with pictures, floor plans, etc.)

Default Michigan To Charlotte

My husband and I are moving from Michigan to Charlotte within the next month. We would like to find a home in an area that has a country setting but close to the city amenaties. I hear people in North Carolina are very friendly and not so stressed out like here. In michigan drivers are awful and the traffic the same. Where would a slower more friendly life be attained there in North Carolina. Thank yoou so much Marlene

Lightbulb relocating to western NC?

Hi,

I have lived here in Asheville much of my life. It is, of course beautiful, artsy, vibrant. But there has always been the problem of lack of jobs. You need to be a professional who can do his/her trade anywhere (doc, atty, acct, etc) or have your own business.

If anyone would like to find out about my mother's retail shop in downtown, which is for sale after 60 years, please email me. I am not allowed to advertise, so I can't provide any info or a clickable description.

I hope this is fine to post.

Default Moving to Raleigh area. How are schools?

Hi! We will be moving to the Raleigh area in a few weeks. We are currently waiting to hear if our two sons will be accepted into Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, and if we qualifiy for any financial aid. If not, our second choice for a (public) high school is the new h.s. in Cary/Morrisville called Panther Creek. Can anyone give me any information about these two schools? Our boys are opting for the public school only so they can get out of wearing uniforms, but as a parent, I'm opting for Cardinal Gibbons thinking they will get a better education. Any response will be greatly appreciated.
